Sound Design

At Spectacle Sound, we shape original sonic experiences that amplify emotion, deepen immersion, and bring creative visions to life. Our work spans visual media—including film, television, and documentary—experiential environmentslike installation art and exhibitions, and interactive applications such as UX/UI, where sound subtly influences perception and behavior.

We design sound with intention, whether crafting immersive atmospheres for audiobooks and podcasts, or building bespoke audio identities for brands, apps, and storytelling platforms. Every element is created to resonate—serving not just the project, but the feeling behind it.

From the grounded to the surreal, we believe sound is more than heard—it’s felt. And we’re here to help your audience feel it.

Experiential Sound

At The Looking Glass art exhibition, one of the standout immersive art projects featured an innovative fusion of sound and sculpture. The artist created "visual sound" experiences, translating music and sound waves into dynamic, three-dimensional sculptures. This interactive installation invited visitors to see and feel the vibrancy of sound in a completely new, physical way. By blending sensory experiences, the project pushed the boundaries of traditional art, making The Looking Glass a must-visit destination for fans of immersive and experiential art.

UI/UX

Unsettling Grounds Augmented Reality Monument | Sound Design & Spatial Audio Integration Charlottesville Woolen Mills, in collaboration with Dream Syndicate and artist Marisa Williamson Unsettling Grounds is an interactive augmented reality experience and monument that explores the buried histories of African American, Indigenous, and rural communities in the Charlottesville Woolen Mills area. Through mobile AR, visitors engage with five virtual monuments—each revealing a different facet of overlooked local narratives. Spectacle Sound provided original sound design, spatial audio, and immersive sonic environments for the full AR experience. Working closely with the creative team through the discovery, development, and implementation phases, we crafted a series of location-based soundscapes that respond to user movement, gaze, and proximity—ensuring sound becomes a living part of the storytelling experience. Highlights include: • Dynamic, responsive sound layers for The Wheel, blending environmental recordings, labor motifs, and cyclical rhythmic elements to mirror the monument’s form and motion. • Sonic treatments for The Loom, Three Sisters, Melting Monument, and The Sundial—each uniquely scored to reflect cultural themes, emotional tone, and physical interaction. • Integration of archival material, field recordings, and composed atmospheres to bridge past and present through sound. The result is a meditative, immersive experience where audio guides, grounds, and expands the emotional and historical resonance of the AR installation—making the unseen felt.
